DEAD LETTER OFFICE: AGES OF YOU

'This is kind of a companion piece to Burning Down.  When we got
tired of that song, we kept the two pieces that we like and rewrote
the rest to come up with Ages Of You. We got tired of that one also.
Recorded for Reckoning. Also remixed by Steve (Fjelstad).'
-Peter Buck

This is one of those songs in the old R.E.M. style which was very repetitive, which was probably why they got sick of it.  Still a very cool song and at one point one of my favorites.  I have no idea what the song is about, but with the imagery and (again) talk of trains, it seems like the description of a film.  The second to last lyric in the middle bridge is perhaps the hardest to make out which could be because he didn't have lyrics and isn't saying anything at all.

AGES OF YOU

Postcard stowaway within
Pristine indigo without
Matted ottoman is such
Sofa seated one too much

All along the range
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
All along the range
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di)

Ages of you
Ages of you
Ages of you

Postcard stowaway within
Pristine indigo without
Matted ottoman is such
Sofa seated one too much

All along the range

All along the range
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
(Ride-a-di-di)

Ages of you
Ages of you
Ages of you

Train bores overhang and
Bridge conductor looks up
Thinks out and down
Hand stuck to the left
To the right, use that phone
The horses just aren't gossip anymore

First caught stowaway within
Pristine indigo without
Matted ottoman is such
Sofa seated one too much

All along the range
(Ride-a-di-di-ay)
All along the range

Ages of you
Ages of you
Ages of you
(Ride-a-di-di)
Ages of you

Ages of you

Fun song to play.  During the second part of the bridge to the chorus, bend the b string a little to sound a little out of tune.
