TURN YOU INSIDE-OUT
Divide your cultured pearls and paste
I’m looking for to lay waste
Of all the things I cannot taste
And this is not the racy race
They spoke loud
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
It’s what you do
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
I could turn you inside out
What I choose not to do
I could turn you inside out
What I choose not to do
Given the choice
Giving my heart
Given the truth (tool)
Given the word
Given the tears
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
It’s what you do
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
I … I … I … I, I, I
I could turn you inside-out
What I choose not to do
I could turn you inside-out
What I choose not to do
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
Given the choice
Giving my heart
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
Given the tool
I believe in what you do
Given the word
I believe in watching you
Given the tears
I believe in what you do
I believe in watching you
I could … I …
I could turn you inside-out
What I choose not to do
I could turn you inside-out
What I choose not to do
Given the choice
Giving my heart
Given the tool
Given the word
Given the tears
Given the tears
Given the tears
Given the choice
Given the choice
Given the choice
Given the choice
The guitar line here is based off of the Buck B chord from Harborcoat. This chord makes a similar appearance down the line in 'Discoverer,' so much so that from now on fans probably won't know what song the band is playing until the drums or second guitar kick in. Perhaps that is on purpose. Or, maybe the band is sick of 'Inside-Out' and want a similar rocker live. When and if they play live again. I'm guessing one more album.
The guitar line is fairly free and relies on distortion to carry the wave of sound. This is another one of those songs where it's easy to blend the bass and guitar lines together. Buck does walk down at times in the verse, but that job is mostly left to Mills. When in doubt, just hit that A/D chord and let it ring!
